Half Price for Returning Players and New Story Trailer: Telltale Details The Wolf Among Us Remastered Discounts Ahead of October 29

With just one week left before Bigby Wolf steps back into the rain-slicked alleys of Fabletown, Telltale Games and publisher PM Studios are laying all their cards on the table. Alongside the debut of a brand-new official Story Trailer showcased on PlayStation and during the ID@Xbox presentation, the studio has confirmed the full pricing breakdown and a major loyalty promotion: players who already own the original 2013 digital release can pick up The Wolf Among Us Remastered for half price when it launches on October 29, 2026 across PS5, Xbox, and PC.
Up to 50% Off at Launch Through November 12
Carrying a standard retail price of $24.99 / €24.99, the remastered five-episode thriller will feature a two-week promotional window running from launch day on October 29 through November 12, 2026. To reward longtime fans waiting for the next chapter in Bigby's journey, Telltale Games is offering a 50% discount (bringing the upgrade down to roughly $12.49) for existing digital owners, alongside a 20% launch discount ($19.99) for newcomers stepping into Fabletown for the first time.
However, the exact discount tiers vary slightly between PC/Xbox storefronts and Sony's ecosystem, where an active PlayStation Plus membership determines the final savings:
- On PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and Xbox: Returning players who digitally own the 2013 original on the same account automatically receive 50% off ($12.49). Brand-new players get a flat 20% launch discount ($19.99) through November 12.
- On PlayStation 5 (With PlayStation Plus): PS Plus subscribers who digitally own the original PS4 version on their account unlock the full 50% discount ($12.49), while new buyers with an active PS Plus membership receive 20% off ($19.99).
- On PlayStation 5 (Without PlayStation Plus): Returning owners of the digital PS4 original without an active subscription still qualify for a reduced 30% loyalty discount (around $17.49). Meanwhile, new players without PS Plus will pay the standard retail price of $24.99.
Telltale Games also noted an important technical caveat: the loyalty discount applies automatically on digital storefronts only when using the exact same account and platform family where the original game was purchased. Physical disc copies of the 2013 release do not qualify, as digital storefronts have no way to verify disc ownership.
Story Trailer, Playable Lost Scenes, and One-Tap Noir Mode
Released alongside the pricing announcement, the new Story Trailer sets the stage for the hardboiled murder mystery adapted from Bill Willingham's award-winning Fables comic book series. Following sheriff Bigby Wolf and Snow White in the wake of a brutal slaying that threatens to expose the clandestine community of fairy-tale exiles living in New York City, the footage highlights the extensive visual overhaul crafted by Telltale Games and PM Studios. Every scene across all five episodes has been relit in 4K at 60 frames per second, featuring refined character models, upgraded environmental textures, smoother animations, and a completely redesigned look for Bigby's full werewolf form.
Beyond the modernized lighting and resolution, this definitive edition introduces a toggleable Noir Mode that lets players switch between the neon-drenched remastered palette and a stark black-and-white detective film aesthetic at any time with a single button press. Longtime fans also get a wealth of archival extras, headlined by five playable "Lost Scenes" cut from the original production, over an hour of behind-the-scenes developer and voice cast interviews, and an art gallery showcasing more than 100 pieces of concept art.
As a reminder, next week's October 29 digital debut covers PS5, Xbox consoles (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility), and PC, rounding out the October 2026 video game release calendar. As we detailed last week when covering why Telltale delayed The Wolf Among Us Remastered on Nintendo Switch, both the digital Switch port and physical retail editions are now slated to arrive in Q1 2027, paving the way for the long-awaited launch of The Wolf Among Us 2.
My Perspective
Setting the base price at a reasonable $24.99 while immediately handing a 50% discount to returning owners is the kind of player-friendly move we rarely see with modern remasters. All too often, publishers slap a full-price tag on a decade-old classic without giving early supporters any upgrade path at all. At roughly twelve dollars for returning fans, the inclusion of five playable Lost Scenes, an hour of candid developer commentary, and the one-tap Noir Mode makes revisiting Fabletown an easy recommendation. My only slight reservation is how the PlayStation 5 discount is gated behind an active PlayStation Plus subscription to reach the full 50% off rather than 30%, an extra hoop that PC and Xbox owners thankfully avoid. Even so, there has never been a sharper way to experience Bigby Wolf's first investigation before 2027 finally brings us the sequel.
