VOID/BREAKER Hits 1.0 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam With Final Zone 06 and 4 New Weapons

After fifteen months of relentless Early Access iteration on PC, the high-velocity roguelite first-person shooter VOID/BREAKER officially graduated to version 1.0 on November 4, 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the official Steam store page and the Microsoft Store. Crafted since early 2023 by British solo developer Daniel Stubbington at Stubby Games (best known for The Entropy Centre) and published by Playstack, the full release also drops Day One into the Xbox Game Pass November 2026 Wave 1 lineup.
Trapped inside a hostile simulation run by an omniscient artificial intelligence, players step into the boots of prisoner 1473, forced to fight, die, and repeat an endless combat loop against ruthless synthetic machines. Breaking free demands lightning-fast grapple movement, wall-running momentum, and an environmental destruction engine where every wall and pillar can be blasted apart.
Zone 06, Finale Boss Fight, and the Endgame Museum
As detailed in the official 1.0 patch notes shared by Stubby Games and Playstack, the full release unlocks the long-awaited Zone 06 alongside the campaign's true narrative conclusion. Players can now confront a brand-new finale boss engineered to push late-game weapon synergies to their absolute limit.
Completing the story arc also transforms how subsequent runs work: players unlock the ability to run linearly from Zone 01 all the way through Zone 06 in a single continuous sweep. In addition, version 1.0 introduces the VOID/BREAKER Museum as a dedicated endgame hub area, complete with a lifetime stats board and new inventory glossary and intel menus to revisit previously discovered lore terminals.

Four New Weapons and Infinite Gun-Modding Synergies
Rather than treating arena geometry as static cover, VOID/BREAKER turns structural destruction into a core tactical tool. Detonating load-bearing walls to open escape routes or collapsing upper walkways onto mechanized patrols is central to surviving higher corruption tiers, especially now that player projectile velocity has been buffed across the board in the 1.0 build.
Four new weapons join the arsenal in version 1.0 to expand the deep gun-modding workbench:
- The LMG: a heavy suppression firearm accompanied by four unlockable weapon chassis.
- The Revolver (Endgame Weapon): built for high-caliber precision and devastating critical-hit multipliers.
- The Flamethrower (Endgame Weapon): designed to melt swarming machine patrols in tight indoor corridors.
- The Entity Rifle (Endgame Weapon): an experimental late-game energy weapon built to shred heavily armored targets.
Combined with fixed critical-stacking modifiers such as Critical Wounds and Overdrive, the expanded weapon pool lets players chain together wildly overpowered projectile combinations on every run.

PS5 DualSense Adaptive Triggers, Launch Discount, and Free Supporter's Pack
Arriving as a standout highlight of this week's November 2 to 6 console release schedule, the console editions feature full PS5 DualSense adaptive trigger support, refined controller aim assist, improved awareness indicators, and the ability to cancel grapple tethers simply by crouching. The 1.0 update also brings 80 Steam achievements and localization across ten languages.
While the standalone Steam demo has been retired (with demo save data carrying over to the main game), Steam players can currently grab VOID/BREAKER 1.0 at a 40% launch discount for $17.99 off its $29.99 base price. Playstack has also released the optional Supporter's Pack DLC on Steam, bundling seven unique weapon chassis, the official digital art book, custom gravity tether colors, alternate grenade effects, and the pounding drum-and-bass official soundtrack composed by Joe Ford, all of which Daniel Stubbington has granted completely free of charge to everyone who purchased the game during Early Access.
My Perspective
Knowing that a single developer built this entire destruction-heavy shooter from the ground up makes the 1.0 console debut all the more impressive in motion. Feeling the DualSense adaptive triggers kick back while you blow out a concrete wall and drop an entire ceiling onto a squad of killer robots gives every firefight an immediate, arcade-style rush that never slows down.
I also love how Daniel Stubbington and Playstack handled the transition out of Early Access: gifting the full Supporter's Pack and Joe Ford's soundtrack for free to early adopters, while launching at 40% off on Steam and Day One on Game Pass, is a class act that rewards both early backers and console newcomers alike.
