Two Parallel Worlds and Modular Spell Crafting: Action RPG Second Stone Launches Its First Steam Demo on October 19

Second Stone The Legend of the Hidden World Shiren

Finnish indie studio Skyward Entertainment and publisher Headup have confirmed that a free public PC demo for their 3D action RPG Second Stone: The Legend of the Hidden World will launch on Steam on Monday, October 19, 2026.

The public release arrives immediately after the conclusion of the game's closed playtest on October 18, coinciding with the October edition of Steam Next Fest. At a time when Steam has already surpassed 21,388 new game releases in 2026, the Helsinki-based team is betting on hands-on mechanical depth to stand out.

Crossing Between the Light World and the Shrouded World

Built in Unreal Engine 5, Second Stone: The Legend of the Hidden World draws inspiration from the golden era of late-1990s and early-2000s 3D platformers while layering in full RPG progression. Players step into the boots of Shiren, a young treasure hunter from Arimaya Village born without a spirit guardian.

When a legendary Stone that holds reality in balance is stolen, Shiren must travel across two colliding parallel dimensions: the sun-drenched Light World and its corrupted dark mirror, the Shrouded World. Every interconnected region rewards exploration twice, as blocked paths or ruins in the light frequently conceal alternate routes and rare artifacts inside the shadow realm.

Elemental Manastones, the Astral Tablet, and Rogue-Like Labyrinths

Beyond its high-mobility platforming and aerial combat, Skyward Entertainment's combat loop centers on modular build crafting powered by elemental Manastones. Players can socket these gems into weapons and armor or fuse surplus stones together to alter how spells behave in real time.

  • Weapon and Gear Infusions: Socketing a Rimestone into a bow lets Shiren freeze enemies from afar, while slotting a Sparkstone into a magical bracer turns him into a close-range storm mage.
  • Custom Spell Behavior: Fusing Manastones can split a standard Fireball into three projectiles, add homing properties, or trigger an explosive detonation on impact.
  • The Astral Tablet: This dedicated talent tree pairs with Manastone loadouts to unlock thousands of build combinations, catering to players who enjoy deep character tinkering similar to the ability respec systems recently added in The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1.
  • The Lost Labyrinths: Beneath the overworld lie massive procedural rogue-like temple gauntlets where players can test their custom builds against Depth Bosses for high-tier loot.

What Is Included in the October 19 Steam Demo

According to Skyward Entertainment, the playable slice covers 20 to 30 minutes of early-game content, following Shiren on his first official mission as a treasure hunter and dungeon diver out of Arimaya Village.

Players will get hands-on access to ground combos, charged strikes, air combat, early Astral Tablet skills, and multiple Manastone infusions. Between dungeon runs, the demo also lets visitors explore the Arimaya hub and challenge local villagers to Mana Clash, an in-game dice-battler card minigame.
