40-Minute Prologue and Full Save Transfer: Castlevania Belmont's Curse Free Demo Is Live on PS5, Switch, and PC

The hunt for the nocturnal creatures begins early. Following up on our initial demo reveal, Konami and Bordeaux-based studio Evil Empire have officially rolled out the first public playable demo for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.
This free trial can be downloaded right now across the PlayStation Store on PS5, the Nintendo eShop on Switch, the Xbox Store on Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

A 40-Minute Prologue in Burning 1499 Paris
The demo offers approximately 40 minutes of gameplay, plunging players straight into the opening chapter of the dark campaign. Set in 1499, twenty-three years after the landmark events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, a sinister demonic blight has engulfed the French capital in flames.
Players step into the boots of Rose Belmont, the fierce daughter of Trevor Belmont and sorceress Sypha Belnades. Movement and combat carry the unmistakable fluid precision honed in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania, pairing classic side-scrolling exploration with responsive combat mechanics.

Vampire Killer Whip, Tarot Arcana, and Switch 2 60 FPS
Rose wields the legendary Vampire Killer whip, using it both to strike down monstrous hordes and grapple across perilous platforms. The demo introduces the Arcana mechanic, where vanquished bosses are sealed into mystical tarot cards that grant devastating elemental spells.
On the hardware front, the demo runs cleanly across all platforms, with the Nintendo Switch 2 unlocking a locked 60 frames per second performance profile that ensures silky smooth platforming.
Full Save Progression Transferred to Final Launch
The most player-friendly feature of this trial is seamless persistence. Your save file and unlocked equipment carry directly into the full release when it launches on October 15, 2026, meaning zero wasted effort.
As detailed in our October 2026 gaming release calendar, this long-awaited franchise revival kicks off what promises to be one of the most competitive autumn seasons of the generation.
