Train Sim World 7 Welcomes Japan: Legendary Tadami Line Arrives on PS5

Train Sim World 7 Tadami Line

Rail simulation fans have waited years for this milestone. Dovetail Games has officially released the very first Japanese route in franchise history for Train Sim World 7, bringing the picturesque Tadami Line (Aizu-Wakamatsu to Tadami) to virtual engineers.

Available now on PlayStation 5, this launch marks a massive turning point for a series that previously focused on North American and European networks.

88 Kilometers and 28 Stations Across Rural Fukushima

Instead of opting for high-speed Shinkansen corridors with repetitive concrete noise barriers, Dovetail Games selected one of Japan's most scenic countryside routes. The Tadami Line stretches across 88 kilometers of single-track railway through the mountains of Fukushima, connecting 28 fully realized rural stations.

The route showcases iconic Japanese rail scenery, from blooming sakura cherry blossoms and mist-shrouded mountain valleys to steep river gorges crossed by dramatic steel truss bridges.

Taking the Throttle of the Iconic KiHa 40 Diesel Railcar

For rolling stock, the expansion features the legendary KiHa 40 diesel railcar, a workhorse of JR East regional lines. The add-on delivers a faithfully recreated cab with authentic analog controls, tactile throttle notches, and realistic diesel physics tailored for mountain grades.

Now live on the PlayStation Store alongside a busy autumn video game release calendar, the Tadami Line delivers a serene, demanding drive that sets a promising precedent for Japanese rail in Train Sim World.
