6-Hour Maintenance and New Dungeon: WoW Forever Opens City of Dalaran and Buffs XP on Beta

Yesterday tested the patience of World of Warcraft: Forever beta players. Between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. PDT (18:00 to midnight CEST), Blizzard took every game server offline for a massive six-hour scheduled maintenance window.
Far from routine background maintenance, this extended outage deployed a major testing build. With less than a month remaining before the worldwide release on November 4, 2026, the development team is accelerating the pace with a brand-new instance and crucial combat fixes.
City of Dalaran: A Brand-New 5-Player Dungeon for Levels 28 to 33
The centerpiece of this update is the official debut of the City of Dalaran dungeon. Designed for five-player groups between levels 28 and 33, it perfectly complements the recent level 30 beta cap unlock.
Access rules depend strictly on your faction. Alliance heroes can enter directly through the Dalaran Sewers via a pipe at Cantrips & Crows. Horde players must complete an attunement questline to earn the Dalaran Sewer Key during the Heart of Disruption mission.
Early community feedback highlights tough encounters. Several creature archetypes inside the city are entirely immune to bleed effects, immediately forcing groups to rethink traditional physical burst team setups.

+20% Dungeon Experience Boost and Weapon Swap Quality-of-Life
Alongside new dungeon halls, Blizzard rebalanced character progression. Experience rewards across all dungeon instances received an immediate +20% flat boost.
This change gives alts a smoother levelling curve without undermining open-world questing. Warriors and rogues also received a vital combat mechanics update: weapon swapping can now be executed multiple times within the same Global Cooldown (GCD).
Classic Looting Restored Ahead of November 4 Worldwide Launch
The build reintroduces authentic Classic looting behavior, allowing players to interact cleanly with non-lootable enemy bodies for gathering professions like skinning.
Connectivity issues such as the recurring BLZ51901016 disconnection error were also patched out. With this rock-solid build live, Blizzard caps off an eventful week and enters the final preparation stretch before the gates of Azeroth swing wide open.
