Working PS4 Dashboard Ported to Roblox With Playable Undertale and The Simpsons Hit & Run: Taken Down, It Already Returned Under a New Name

Undertale playable inside the working PS4 dashboard ported to Roblox

Recreating the entire PlayStation 4 system dashboard inside Roblox, complete with authentic boot audio and a lineup of fully playable games like Undertale and The Simpsons: Hit & Run, sounds like a fever dream. Yet developer collective Redwing Works actually pulled it off. Although moderation swiftly wiped the original upload over obvious copyright violations, the creator has already brought the project back under the thinly veiled alias Rostation Experience.

A Full PlayStation 4 Operating System Built Inside the Roblox Engine

The project blew up across social media on October 27 after prominent content creator KreekCraft shared gameplay footage originally captured by @SirDapper. Rather than relying on an external emulator or pre-rendered video tricks, booting up the aptly named PlayStation Experience on the official Roblox platform greeted players with Sony Interactive Entertainment's unmistakable console startup sequence.

From the ambient chime to the classic "Welcome Back to PlayStation" login screen, the entire visual layout of the PS4 home menu was meticulously rebuilt using Roblox's Luau scripting engine. Navigating the top function bar unlocked working tabs for Trophies, Profile, Settings, and Power options, while the main content ribbon featured a functional web browser, a media gallery, and a live server chat.

Playable Undertale, The Simpsons Hit & Run, and Superhot Built Right Into the Menu

What turned a clever UI showcase into a viral sensation was the row of game tiles sitting on the home screen. Clicking those icons actually launched playable, in-engine recreations and ports running directly inside the Roblox experience. The embedded library included:

  • Undertale, Toby Fox's acclaimed indie RPG officially sold on the PlayStation Store
  • The Simpsons: Hit & Run, featuring an explorable Springfield map remarkably close to the 2003 original
  • Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF)
  • Superhot, complete with its signature time-moves-when-you-move mechanics
  • Clustertruck, Gang Beasts, and PaRappa the Rapper
  • A nested version of Roblox playable inside the virtual PS4 dashboard itself

Over on the r/roblox subreddit, the sheer volume of working games packed into a single experience sparked intense debate among developers. Many community members suspect the team leaned heavily on AI-assisted recompilation and automated code translation to port so many commercial titles into Luau in record time. That wave of grassroots technical wizardry mirrors the broader preservation and homebrew boom, much like how original Xbox emulator hakuX 1.2 recently unlocked Halo and Forza on Snapdragon Android handhelds.

Wiped by Moderation, Redwing Works Fires Back With 'Rostation Experience'

Using Sony's trademarked PlayStation branding and system audio while bundling unauthorized playable copies of Undertale and Five Nights at Freddy's was never going to fly under the radar for long. Once viral clips racked up hundreds of thousands of views, PlayStation Experience was promptly taken down from Roblox.

Refusing to back down, Redwing Works lead developer Robin immediately reuploaded the project under a slightly altered banner: Rostation Experience. Addressing players directly, Robin made no secret of the cat-and-mouse game with platform moderators: "Welp, I like to be transparent, HATE that the other game got taken down, so we will stand RIGHT behind the line. HERE IS THE GAME!!!!!"

In an attempt to shield the reupload from another instant strike, the description now carries a disclaimer stating that "RoStation is an original fan project and isn't affiliated with any console maker." Even as the platform prepares for Roblox's upcoming standalone app export feature for PC, consoles, and mobile, swapping two letters in the title will hardly stop Sony's legal team or third-party rights holders from dropping the hammer again.

My Take

You have to admire the sheer audacity of this project. Rebuilding the entire PS4 operating system down to the startup chime inside Roblox, stuffing it with playable versions of Undertale, Superhot, and The Simpsons: Hit & Run, and then letting players boot up Roblox inside a virtual PS4 inside Roblox is top-tier internet madness. Whether Redwing Works leaned on AI recompilation tools or hand-crafted the Luau scripts from scratch, the technical ambition on display is wild.

That said, thinking you can outsmart Sony's legal department by renaming "PlayStation" to "Rostation" and slapping a one-line fan disclaimer in the description is pure comedy. Even without the official PlayStation logos, hosting full playable ports of commercial games without a license gives this reupload a lifespan measured in hours. Still, it proves one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt: Roblox's creation tools have reached a point where players aren't just making games anymore, they are building entire consoles inside the platform.
