Transferable Save and First Dungeon: Metaphor ReFantazio Prologue Demo Lands on Switch 2

Atlus and Studio Zero just delivered a major surprise on the Nintendo eShop. With zero advance warning, the publisher officially shadow-dropped the playable prologue demo of Metaphor: ReFantazio on the Nintendo Switch 2.
This free trial sets the stage for the full game release, officially scheduled for November 12, 2026 on Nintendo's upcoming platform.
Players can immediately dive into the opening hours of this dark fantasy epic crafted by the creative minds behind Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The trial includes the complete prologue storyline across the United Kingdom of Euchronia along with the first full dungeon.
Crucially, Atlus confirmed that all progress, player levels, and equipment will transfer directly into the full version when it launches on November 12, 2026.

Directed by Katsura Hashino, with character designs by Shigenori Soejima and a sweeping musical score by Shoji Meguro, the game redefines classic turn-based conventions. The battle system fluidly blends real-time field combat with deep command battles powered by the Archetype framework.
This release delivers another high-profile boost to the expanding Nintendo Switch 2 release lineup.

My Take on the Surprise Launch
Atlus is executing a masterclass rollout. Offering several hours of narrative setup with full save file continuity removes any barrier to entry for Switch 2 owners.
November 12, 2026 cannot come soon enough.
