Hello Peach and Hello Luigi: Nintendo Shadow-Drops Two Free Touch Apps on Switch

Nintendo surprised players on the eShop today by quietly releasing two brand-new standalone interactive apps: Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi!.
Available as completely free downloads, both applications expand the company's "My Mario" lineup, designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers to interact with Nintendo's iconic characters.
Interactive 3D Face Stretching on the Switch Touchscreen
Much like the legendary interactive intro screen from Super Mario 64, children can poke, stretch, pinch, and rotate Peach and Luigi's faces in real time using the console's touchscreen or control sticks.
Every touch triggers animated facial expressions and authentic character voice clips. Tapping the Question Mark (?) block in the upper corner spawns classic Mushroom Kingdom items, including Super Stars, green pipes, and Super Mushrooms.

Zero Microtransactions, Offline Play, and Built-In Rest Timers
Unlike standard mobile releases filled with intrusive ads and aggressive paywalls, Nintendo kept these apps entirely safe and child-friendly. Once downloaded from the eShop, both titles work completely offline with zero advertisements or in-app purchases.
Nintendo also added a practical "Goodnight" feature to assist parents with screen time. After a period of continuous play, the character begins yawning and falls asleep, providing an organic cue for toddlers to step away from the screen.
A Strategic Move to Secure the Next Generation of Players
Joining the previously released Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! apps, this new drop reinforces Nintendo's strategy to introduce toddlers to its core mascots long before they can handle traditional platformers.
The preschool push arrives right alongside Nintendo's new holiday hardware bundles. By creating an emotional connection with kids as young as two years old, Nintendo is building long-term ecosystem loyalty well into its next hardware era.
