400 Pixel-Art Characters, Baratie Number Two, and Cooking With Sanji: One Piece: Grand Gourmet Launches on Switch, PC, and Mobile

After years of massive 3D arena brawlers in the Pirate Warriors series and turn-based exploration in Odyssey, Eiichiro Oda's flagship franchise is taking an unexpectedly cozy detour. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and developed by legendary Japanese simulation studio Kairosoft (best known for Game Dev Story, Cafeteria Nipponica, and Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story), One Piece: Grand Gourmet is now available worldwide on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android. To celebrate the release, Bandai Namco dropped an upbeat launch trailer featuring an original rap track performed by KOPERU from the Osaka hip-hop collective Umeda Cypher.
Cooking With Sanji: From Sea King Penne Gorgonzola to Devil Fruit Recipes
Instead of chasing Marine bounties or clashing with Haki, One Piece: Grand Gourmet revolves entirely around culinary craft and maritime hospitality. Players step into the shoes of a fresh recruit working alongside Sanji and the Straw Hat Crew with a clear goal: turning Baratie Number Two, the second floating branch of Red-Leg Zeff's famous sea restaurant, into the finest dining establishment across the seas.
The core gameplay loop blends Kairosoft's signature 2D management mechanics with deep series lore. You sail across iconic islands to gather rare ingredients, take recipe inspirations from crewmates, and team up with Sanji in the kitchen to design custom meal sets. The menu spans beloved anime staples like Water Seven's Water-Water Meat BBQ and Sea King Penne Gorgonzola alongside original dishes infused with the themes and powers of Devil Fruits.
Over 400 Pixel-Art Characters and 200 Decor Items From Whole Cake Island to Egghead
Beyond recipe research, interior layout directly impacts customer satisfaction and table turnover. The game features more than 200 furniture, building, and decorative items to expand your floating deck and customize the dining floor. Players can mix and match sweet, dessert-inspired pieces from Whole Cake Island with sleek futuristic fixtures straight out of Egghead.
Kairosoft also went all-in on fan service with the roster: over 400 One Piece characters make their debut in spritely 8-bit and 16-bit pixel art, showing up both as hired restaurant staff and hungry patrons. When pirates, Marines, or familiar allies enjoy your interior design and menu combinations, they become regular customers and trigger exclusive character events and cross-era interactions.

Pricing, Platforms, and Full Multi-Language Support at Launch
Released across October 22 and October 23, 2026, One Piece: Grand Gourmet is priced at $19.99 / €19.99 on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, joining a packed week on Nintendo's digital storefront right as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reclaims the top spot on the Switch eShop charts. Meanwhile, the mobile editions on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) retail for around $15.99 as a standalone premium purchase with no gacha mechanics.
The PC release ships with full controller support and 12 supported languages out of the box, making it effortless to pick up for quick portable sessions on handheld consoles, Steam Deck, or even Android devices using tools like DroidDeck 0.6.0 to run local Steam games on Android.
My Take
When Bandai Namco first teased a cooking spin-off centered on Sanji, I was worried it might end up as a shallow promotional mini-game. Handing the keys of Baratie Number Two to Kairosoft completely changed my expectations. After proving with Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story that they can treat a legendary manga license with genuine love while keeping their dangerously addictive management loop intact, Kairosoft feels like a natural match for Eiichiro Oda's world. Watching 400 pixel-art pirates line up for Sea King pasta inside an Egghead-themed dining room is effortlessly charming, and at $19.99, this is the kind of focused, feel-good spin-off that will easily eat up my weekend on Switch.
