The Complete Archery Secret Target Locations Guide for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Archery all 12 Secret Targets locations guide

Among the twelve sports featured in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort on Nintendo Switch 2, Archery holds a special place for completionists chasing perfect scorecards. Beyond the standard bullseye board that already tests your ability to judge elevation and wind drift, every single stage hides an eccentric bonus prop tucked away in the Wuhu Island scenery. Tracking down all 12 Secret Targets is not just a great way to trigger a cinematic slow-motion camera zoom and score an instant 10 points in front of friends; it is also mandatory for 100% completion, as one of the five official Archery achievements requires hitting at least six of the twelve hidden targets.

Before drawing your bowstring, keep one core mechanic in mind: tiny variations in your pull strength, aiming angle, and shifting gusts mean no two arrows fly identically. After exploring Wuhu Island's open world hub and twelve sports, always use your first arrow alongside our visual landmarks to trigger the tracking camera, spot the exact position of the hidden object, and fine-tune your second and third shots accordingly.

Plaza Course: All 3 Secret Targets (No Wind)

The opening Plaza circuit takes place around the urban heart of the resort. While the hidden objects are tucked away at tricky angles, there is zero wind interference across all three stages, making repeatable setups much more consistent.

  • Plaza A (Apple): The very first Secret Target is surprisingly far away, requiring a high arcing shot. From the main archery board, aim up and to the right so your reticle overlaps the slope of the mountain in the background. Look closely at the bridge in the distance to spot an apple resting just behind the structure; your arrow needs to arc over the span and dip straight down onto the fruit.

  • Plaza B (Pinata): Much easier to spot from the shooting stand, this colorful pinata sits on a cluster of small rocks in the middle of the water to the left of the standard target. Since there is no wind, line up the top-left corner of your aiming cursor with the edge of the street light to land right next to, or directly into, the pinata on your opening shot.

  • Plaza C (Hamburger): From the main target, turn left and look slightly upward toward the roof of the large building in the background, where a giant hamburger is resting. Line up your vertical aim with the middle of the clouds directly above the building while keeping the bottom-center of your reticle straight above the burger.

Beach Course: Adjusting for Coastal Wind

Starting from the Beach stages, random wind speeds and directions come into play. Even after the impressive compression work that reduced the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort file size to 9.83GB on Switch 2, the environmental systems remain dynamic, meaning background clouds slowly drift over time and should only be used as a vertical height reference rather than a horizontal anchor.

  • Beach A (Custard Pudding): The first coastal secret is a Japanese purin (custard pudding) sitting on a distant rock to the right of the main target. Fortunately, hitting the pan underneath the pudding still counts for the full 10 points. Align your cursor roughly with the bottom of the clouds above the rock, fire a range-finding shot, and make a minor horizontal tweak for the mild breeze.

  • Beach B (Apple): Easily the toughest of all twelve Secret Targets, this apple rests on the rocks in the water just to the right of the main board. Aim slightly up and to the right toward the two distant wind turbines, placing the bottom of your reticle right on top of the right-hand turbine. From there, adjust for the wind: when blowing right, align the bottom of the cursor with the two trees between the turbine blades (aiming slightly higher) or with the first protruding cliff to the left of the foreground palm tree. A rightward wind is actually ideal here, as a rock on the right side can otherwise block the arrow as it drops.

  • Beach C (Melon): While very easy to see, coastal gusts make this shot deceptively tricky. Look up and to the left of the main target to spot the melon resting on a narrow ledge in the middle of the large rock face. Aim up and slightly to the right by lining up the center of your cursor with the seam in the rocks, then adjust based on where your first arrow lands.

Plains Course: Long-Range Drift and Blind Foliage Shots

The Plains circuit ramps up the challenge by amplifying wind drift over long distances and hiding targets behind natural obstacles.

  • Plains A (Hamburger): Turn left from the main target and look at the far-left edge of the large background building, where a hamburger is sitting on the ground just outside the wall. Line up the bottom of your cursor with the lip of the roof directly above the burger, then shift left or right depending on the wind direction.

  • Plains B (Melon): You can briefly glimpse this melon directly in front of you as the round starts before the on-screen wind indicator covers it up. Look up and to the right of the main target at the base of the cliffs. To handle the long distance, align the right-hand edge of your cursor with the jutting rock on the third cliff, fire a test shot, and compensate for the wind.

  • Plains C (Hamburger): A second hamburger awaits in the Plains, tucked completely out of sight behind the foliage of the tree just down the hill from your shooting position. To line up this blind shot, look up and to the right of the main target toward the distant building across the water. Align the left-hand edge of your reticle with the middle of that faraway building and release; your arrow will fly straight through the tree leaves and strike the hidden burger behind it.

Mountains Course: Cavern Ceilings and Volcanic Updrafts

While the Mountains circuit features the hardest standard bullseyes in the game, its three Secret Targets are surprisingly manageable once you know where to look.

  • Mountains A (Custard Pudding): Turn right from the main target to spot another custard pudding sitting right on the edge of the cliff. Position your reticle roughly halfway between the pudding and the trees to its left, then raise your aim into the darker band of the sky before firing your first sighting arrow.

  • Mountains B (Pinata): Inside the cavern, look up and to the right of the standard target and aim at the gray rock hanging from the ceiling, leaving a small gap with your cursor. Because the pinata sits out in the open on the cave floor with nothing obstructing the drop zone, your first shot will clearly reveal its location for an easy follow-up hit.

  • Mountains C (Toaster): In the volcanic finale, turn left past the molten pillar and look slightly up at the magma wall in the background to spot a toaster sitting on a high ledge. Because the thermal wind in this stage blows upward, the updraft will carry your arrow toward the ledge for you. Simply line up the very bottom of your cursor directly with the toaster, nudge slightly left or right for any crosswind, and fire.

My Perspective

Hunting down hidden targets across Wuhu Island immediately brings back the best memories of local multiplayer nights on Wii Sports Resort, while giving veteran players four fresh courses to master. I especially love the absurdity of sniping a toaster perched on a wall of molten magma inside the volcano, or pulling off the blind shot through the trees in Plains C when playing against friends. Including these twelve environmental secrets without plastering noisy UI markers over them is the kind of classic Nintendo touch that makes chasing 100% completion genuinely rewarding.
