Dave the Diver Teams Up With Subnautica 2 for Free Final DLC: Alien Waters and Cosmic Sushi Coming Early 2027
Two of gaming's most beloved aquatic universes are colliding in a crossover that nobody saw coming. During the Triple-i Initiative Fall Showcase 2026, developer MINTROCKET officially unveiled the final downloadable content expansion for Dave the Diver.
Titled the "Subnautica 2 Content Pack," this massive collaboration built alongside Unknown Worlds Entertainment will launch completely free of charge in early 2027 across all platforms.
An Interdimensional Dive Into the Waters of Proteus
Leaving the familiar currents of the Blue Hole behind, Dave and sushi chef Bancho travel through an interdimensional rift straight into the alien waters of Proteus, the extraterrestrial planet of Subnautica 2.
The expansion drops our intrepid diver into a treacherous alien ocean filled with bioluminescent fauna and menacing Leviathans. Armed with high-tech underwater equipment straight from Unknown Worlds, Dave will also get to hunt down those pesky Nibbler Mangos to supply the kitchen.
Cosmic Sushi and Deep Ocean Recipes at Bancho Sushi
The beloved gameplay loop remains front and center as every alien catch makes its way to Bancho Sushi. Players can transform otherworldly sea life and rare planetary resources into exotic cosmic sushi dishes to delight curious customers.
"For our final expansion, we wanted to create something that felt especially meaningful, and a Subnautica collaboration is what players have been asking us about for a long time," said MINTROCKET studio director Jaeho Hwang. "Working with the Subnautica 2 team gave us a chance to bring a new wave to the Dave the Diver experience."
Subnautica 2 creative director Anthony Gallegos echoed that enthusiasm, calling the project a mutual love letter between two teams deeply passionate about deep-sea adventures.
