Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Unveiled with Norgan Region, 60 FPS on Switch 2, and October 9 Release

Capcom has officially unveiled the next chapter of its fantasy action-RPG with Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, locked for a worldwide release on October 9, 2026.
This major expansion marks the franchise debut on Nintendo Switch 2, while launching simultaneously across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
Norgan: A Frozen Realm Packed with 12 New Dungeons
Much like the legendary expansion of the first game, Dark Arisen introduces a massive uncharted northern territory known as Norgan.
This harsh sub-zero biome features blinding blizzards and freezing hazards that test party survival and preparation.
Explorers will delve into 12 labyrinthine subterranean dungeons designed to push team coordination between the Arisen and their Pawns to the limit.
These subterranean complexes are home to colossal new beasts built specifically to exploit vertical climbing and tactical weak-point combat.
Capcom also brings fresh weapon skills for every vocation, alongside extended command options for Pawns and long-requested quality-of-life improvements.
Series veterans will instantly recognize the lineage of Bitterblack Isle from the original Dark Arisen. Capcom follows that exact philosophy, tailoring Norgan primarily for seasoned parties looking for brutal end-game encounters.
Nintendo Switch 2 Targets 60 FPS with Capcom Frame Generation
Beyond the new content, the standout technical achievement comes from the upcoming Nintendo hardware.
Running the physics-heavy RE Engine smoothly on a mobile chipset was an ambitious challenge for Capcom engineers.
The studio developed an in-house Frame Generation technology specifically optimized for the console GPU architecture.
The system doubles an internal 30 FPS baseline to deliver a smooth 60 FPS target in both handheld and docked configurations.

Pricing Structure and October 9 Launch
Capcom is implementing a straightforward release strategy across all platforms.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners will be able to purchase a complete package containing both the base game and the Dark Arisen expansion at launch.
Meanwhile, existing players on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can purchase Dark Arisen separately as a standalone digital DLC.
This release adds another heavyweight contender to an already crowded autumn, featured in our October 2026 video game release calendar.
The gates to Norgan officially unlock on October 9, 2026.
