Monster Hunter Outlanders Launches October 29: Full Controller Support Confirmed

Capcom and TiMi Studio Group, the Tencent powerhouse behind Call of Duty Mobile, have officially locked in the global release date for their mobile hunting title. The free-to-play open-world survival action game Monster Hunter Outlanders will launch worldwide on iOS and Android on October 29, 2026, ahead of a dedicated release in mainland China scheduled for 2027.
Following previous mobile spin-offs such as Monster Hunter Explore and Niantic's location-based Monster Hunter Now, Capcom is shifting into top gear. Outlanders is engineered as a true full-fledged hunting experience, bringing seamless open-world exploration and console-quality monster tracking straight into the hands of portable hunters.
The adventure drops players into the expansive wilderness of Aesoland, a living open territory designed for unrestricted exploration and resource gathering. Whether venturing solo or teaming up in four-player hunting squads with a single screen tap, players will face off against an aggressive wildlife roster led by the radiant Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal and reactive Radiant Species adapted to their local habitats.
Seven Iconic Weapons, Survival Crafting, and New Buddies
Exploration in Aesoland goes beyond combat by introducing wilderness survival mechanics. Hunters can gather environmental components, craft survival gear on the move, and set up field camps across distant regions to prepare for high-stakes encounters.
To battle these colossal threats, hunters will master seven core weapon archetypes at launch: Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Heavy Bowgun, and Bow. Each weapon incorporates brand-new follow-up combat arts linked to specific playable Adventurers, with additional classic weapons confirmed to arrive in subsequent content expansions.
Alongside beloved Palico companions, the hunt introduces two brand-new Buddy species named Rutaco and Trillan. Each companion brings distinctive traits, exploration perks, and tactical support abilities during grueling monster battles.
Touch Controls vs Traditional Gamepads: Full Controller Support Confirmed
Translating the meticulous timing, dodge frames, and hitboxes of Monster Hunter onto a touchscreen has always been a major community concern. TiMi and Capcom addressed that challenge by confirming two distinct control styles from day one. Alongside a streamlined touch interface optimized for quick mobile sessions, the game features full native support for traditional Bluetooth and USB-C controllers. Whether using standard wireless pads or snapping a phone into a mobile gaming grip, players can rely on direct physical inputs for precise combo execution.
Landing just before Halloween, the launch adds a massive free-to-play heavyweight to the game release calendar for October 2026. TiMi producer Dong Huang and Capcom series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto celebrated the date in an official joint video broadcast.

Pre-registrations are now live across both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The true verdict will rest on whether the free-to-play progression model preserves the authentic weapon mastery and grind that made Capcom's hunting series legendary.
Happy hunting !!!
