Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Schrödinger's Call Hit Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29 With 100-Yen Upgrades, Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls, and 60 FPS

Following the Japanese broadcast of the October 2026 Nintendo Indie World showcase, publisher Shueisha Games officially announced that two of its flagship narrative adventures are arriving simultaneously on Nintendo Switch 2: Urban Myth Dissolution Center Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (developed by Hakababunko) and a native Nintendo Switch 2 version of Schrödinger's Call (crafted by Acrobatic Chirimenjako). Both versions launch on October 29, 2026 at midnight JST, backed by a player-friendly 100-yen upgrade path (roughly $0.65) for existing Nintendo Switch owners.
Urban Myth Dissolution Center Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Adds Joy-Con 2 Mouse Support and Unused Art Gallery
Since its original debut in February 2025, Urban Myth Dissolution Center has grown into one of Japan's standout indie mystery phenomena, earning an Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards 2025 and offering full localization across 13 languages. Developed by mystery collective Hakababunko (creators of the Makoto Wakaido's Case Files series), the occult investigative adventure follows Azami Fukurai, a college student plagued by clairvoyant visions who is recruited into a supernatural agency led by psychic director Ayumu Meguriya and field operative Jasmine. Together, they investigate cursed relics, haunted apartments, and dimensional anomalies to dismantle urban legends from the inside out.

Built specifically to take advantage of Nintendo's new hardware, Urban Myth Dissolution Center Nintendo Switch 2 Edition introduces two major additions:
- Native Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls: Players can place the Joy-Con 2 on its side to guide a dedicated on-screen cursor during crime scene inspections, social media sleuthing, and deduction sequences, bringing PC-style point-and-click precision to the console.
- A 31-Page Interactive Gallery Mode: Complete with a built-in background music (BGM) player, the new Gallery lets players revisit every animated pixel-art cutscene in the game while unlocking dozens of previously unseen production illustrations and cut storyboards labeled UNUSED, including alternate car scenes with Azami and Jasmine and unused character frames of Ayumu Meguriya.
Priced at 2,080 yen standalone on the Japanese eShop (with the base game priced at $19.99 / €17.49 internationally), existing Nintendo Switch players can transition to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition via a 100-yen Upgrade Pass. Crucially, Shueisha Games confirmed that owners of the physical cartridge edition on the original Nintendo Switch are also fully eligible to purchase the 100-yen Upgrade Pass.

Schrödinger's Call Leaps to 1080p and 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2
Originally released in late May 2026 on Nintendo Switch and Steam after winning the Grand Prize at the Shueisha Game Creators CAMP GAME BBQ vol.1 competition, Schrödinger's Call is also launching natively on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29, 2026. Developed by the three-person team at Acrobatic Chirimenjako, this picture-book visual novel stars Mary, an amnesiac girl who wakes up in a dark room alongside a talking cat named Hamlet.

In a dying world where humanity has vanished, Mary becomes the final listener on Earth, picking up a rotary telephone to hear the last confessions of souls whose fates remain suspended between life and death, much like Schrödinger's cat. The standalone Nintendo Switch 2 version delivers two key visual upgrades:
- Full HD (1080p) Resolution: All in-game scenes (excluding pre-rendered movie sequences) now render in crisp 1080p, sharpening the hand-drawn storybook illustrations and theatrical lighting.
- Doubled Frame Rate at 60 FPS: Upgraded from 30 FPS on the original Switch to a locked 60 FPS on Switch 2, making every subtle facial expression and dramatic camera transition noticeably smoother.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Schrödinger's Call is priced at 2,480 yen standalone, while players who already own the digital Nintendo Switch version on their account can purchase the dedicated Switch 2 software for just 100 yen. A free Chapter 1 demo featuring full save data carryover into the main game is also available.

Switch 2 Edition Breakdown and Upcoming Steam Bundle
Alongside these two October additions to the 2026 game release calendar, Shueisha Games announced that a joint Urban Myth Dissolution Center × Schrödinger's Call bundle is in production for PC via Steam. Players can check out both titles right now on Steam (Urban Myth Dissolution Center), Steam (Schrödinger's Call), and the official Nintendo Store.

My Test Bench
If there is one Japanese publisher that consistently treats narrative indie gems and their players with genuine respect, it is Shueisha Games. Anyone who has spent time unraveling the occult conspiracies of Urban Myth Dissolution Center knows just how hypnotic Hakababunko's two-tone pixel art and twist-heavy writing are. Being able to flip a Joy-Con 2 onto its side to comb through shady social media posts like a true desktop detective, while unlocking 31 pages of cut storyboards and unused artwork for less than a dollar, is the exact kind of thoughtful hardware upgrade every Switch 2 port should aspire to. Pair that with Schrödinger's Call jumping to 1080p and 60 FPS for the same symbolic 100-yen fee, and Nintendo Switch 2 is rapidly cementing itself as the ultimate home for expressive, author-driven visual novels.
