No More Gacha, 4-Player Co-Op Raids, and a $39.99 Buy-to-Play Model: Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE Launches November 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series

Sung Jinwoo's rise on home consoles is finally shedding stamina timers and paid summon banners. Publisher Netmarble and developer Netmarble Neo have officially confirmed that Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM PST / 7:00 PM EST (midnight UTC on November 4). Arriving nearly a year after its initial PC debut on Steam and the Microsoft Store in November 2025, this standalone console release adapts the global webtoon phenomenon, which boasts over 14.3 billion views worldwide, into a full-fledged action-RPG built specifically for controller play.
A $39.99 Buy-to-Play Overhaul That Replaces Gacha Pulls With Weapon Crafting
While the original mobile and PC release Solo Leveling: ARISE was structured around free-to-play gacha banners and daily microtransactions, OVERDRIVE shifts to a standalone buy-to-play model. Players no longer need to roll currency on randomized banners hoping to pull signature gear for the E-Rank hunter turned Shadow Monarch; instead, all character growth and equipment unlocks are tied directly to combat mastery, dungeon drops, and a dedicated weapon crafting system.
By hunting monsters and dungeon bosses in the field, players gather materials to forge iconic weapons straight from the original manhwa, including Kasaka's Venom Fang and the Demon King's Daggers. Kicking off the first week of the November 2026 video game release calendar, the console version will be available digitally on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store in two tiers:
- Standard Edition ($39.99): Includes the full base game, covering both the original webtoon storyline and exclusive new story chapters created for Overdrive.
- Deluxe Edition ($44.99): Includes the base game alongside the Deluxe-exclusive Sung Jinwoo: Overdrive costume, one facial accessory, two additional hairstyles for Jinwoo, an 8-piece Cha Hae-In emoji set, profile customization items (card, frame, icon, and background), and the Yaruru "Predator Tank" companion pet that automatically gathers dropped items and resources during battle.
Eight Job Advancements, Monarch Awakening, and 4-Player Co-Op Raids
Under the hood, Netmarble Neo has tuned the combat loop around high-speed action and precise defensive timing. Encounters reward players who master Extreme Evasion, triggering a brief temporal slowdown when dodging at the last possible frame, and perfect parries that open bosses up to devastating counterattacks. Sung Jinwoo's progression is anchored by a branching skill tree that splits into 8 distinct job advancements built across four foundational combat styles (Assassin, Duelist, Elementalist, and Ruler), allowing players to tailor their combos around specific weapon loadouts.
At peak intensity, players can unleash the Monarch Awakening system. Succeeding Ashborn, Jinwoo transforms into the Ultimate Monarch of Shadows mid-fight, unlocking overwhelming shadow abilities that adapt to high-pressure boss phases. Beyond the solo campaign, the game features 4-player online co-op raids where squads can team up to take down massive Dungeon Commanders, choosing either to fight as Jinwoo or assemble a party of other S-Rank hunters. PlayStation 5 owners will have plenty to download that day, as the launch lands right alongside the PlayStation Plus November 2026 monthly games headlined by Dead Island 2.
My Perspective
When I first played the mobile version of Solo Leveling: ARISE, my biggest frustration was never the combat itself: the cel-shaded animations captured the energy of DUBU's artwork beautifully, and chaining dagger skills felt genuinely satisfying, yet the constant pop-up shops and gacha walls always interrupted the momentum. Stripping out the paid lottery in favor of earnable weapon crafting and an eight-path skill tree addresses the exact complaint I had with the original release. Being able to jump into four-player Commander raids on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 3 for a flat $39.99,forging the Demon King's Daggers through clean parries rather than banner pulls, finally gives Chugong's story the focused console action-RPG it deserved from the start.
