Dead Island 2 (PS5, PS4): Three-Player Co-Op Carnage Across Sun-Soaked HELL-A
Headlining the November lineup, Dead Island 2 drops players straight into a quarantined Los Angeles reimagined as a gore-drenched playground known as HELL-A. From the manicured mansions of Beverly Hills to the blood-stained boardwalks of Venice Beach, six immune Slayers battle through mutated hordes with a pulpy sense of humor.

Powered by Dambuster Studios' procedural FLESH dismemberment technology, every swing of an electrified katana, acidic claw, or sledgehammer visibly shears through muscle and bone. Combined with a flexible Skill Card deck system and seamless three-player online co-op, its arrival in the PlayStation Plus Essential tier means members can now lock the game permanently into their personal library for as long as their subscription remains active.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered (PS5, PS4): Lara Croft's Darkness Trilogy Restored
Following widespread anticipation, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered officially joins the November roster on both PS5 and PS4. Developed by Aspyr in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, this collection revives the famous Darkness Trilogy from Lara Croft's classic era:
- Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation: Lara's sprawling Egyptian expedition where she accidentally unleashes the god Set.
- Tomb Raider: Chronicles: Four globetrotting flashback chapters set across Rome, Russia, Ireland, and Von Croy's high-tech tower.
- Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness: The atmospheric Parisian and Prague murder mystery featuring playable co-protagonist Kurtis Trent.

Just like the first remastered trilogy, players can swap between the original polygonal character models and upgraded high-definition visuals with a single button press, alongside optional modern control schemes, boss health bars, and a dedicated Photo Mode. It rounds out a strong week for classic mascots on Sony's hardware, right alongside Rayman Legends Retold's free Astro Bot costume on PS5.
Monster Train 2 (PS5): Angels and Demons Unite Across Three Vertical Floors
Completing the trio exclusively on PS5, Monster Train 2 delivers Shiny Shoe's acclaimed sequel to one of the most addictive roguelite deckbuilders on the market. After powerful entities known as Titans seize control of Heaven, former angels and demons forge a desperate alliance aboard newly constructed trains barreling through Hell, Heaven, and the Abyss.
Players command five brand-new clans with distinct synergies while defending three vertical train floors simultaneously. Recruiting units, stacking card upgrades, and adapting to multi-tiered boss waves give the sequel immense replay value right in the middle of a packed November 2026 game release calendar.
Last Chance to Claim October's PlayStation Plus Monthly Games
Before the new lineup rotates in, subscribers have until Monday, November 2, 2026, to add October's monthly titles to their digital library:
- F1 25 (PS5)
- Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5)
- Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4)
My Perspective
This is easily one of the most well-balanced PlayStation Plus Essential lineups Sony has put together in months. Dead Island 2 is pure, unapologetic comfort food in co-op: even if some Extra members sampled it previously, locking it permanently into your Essential library so you can drop-kick zombies off the Santa Monica pier with two friends whenever you want is a massive win. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered gives The Last Revelation the visual polish it deserves while finally making The Angel of Darkness far more approachable thanks to modern controls. Still, the real sleeper hit here is Monster Train 2. Booting it up on PS5 for a "quick twenty-minute run" is a trap in the best possible way: once those five new angel-and-demon clans click across three vertical floors, your entire weekend is spoken for.
