Native 90 FPS Without Reprojection and 4-Player Co-Op: Zero Caliber 2 Remastered Launches on PS VR2 November 5

Zero Caliber 2 Remastered PlayStation VR2 gameplay firing an RPG at an attack helicopter

After debuting on standalone headsets and receiving a comprehensive visual overhaul on PC in late 2025, Zero Caliber 2 Remastered is officially heading to Sony's headset. Independent developer and publisher XREAL Games has announced that its co-op military VR shooter will launch on PlayStation VR2 on November 5, 2026. Rather than delivering a scaled-down mobile port, the studio built the PS5 release around the upgraded PC Remastered framework, locking performance at a crisp native 90 FPS without reprojection.

Built on the Remastered Edition With Native 90 FPS and Sense Haptics

In a fast-paced virtual reality shooter, frame rate stability directly impacts aiming precision and player comfort. For the PlayStation VR2 launch, XREAL Games confirmed that Zero Caliber 2 Remastered runs at a rock-solid 90 frames per second natively, completely bypassing the 60-to-120Hz reprojection artifacts that can blur fast head movements and iron-sight tracking during chaotic firefights.

Alongside high-resolution textures, reworked lighting, improved enemy AI, and denser particle effects compared to the original standalone version, the PS VR2 release integrates dedicated hardware features:

  • PS VR2 Sense Adaptive Triggers: trigger tension and mechanical feedback are individually tuned for each weapon category, giving distinct resistance profiles to sidearms, pump-action shotguns, assault rifles, and heavy machine guns.
  • Headset (HMD) Haptics: built-in headset vibrations let players feel the shockwaves of incoming airstrikes, nearby grenade blasts, and heavy suppressive fire.
  • Native bHaptics Support: players using bHaptics tactile vests and accessories get out-of-the-box compatibility on PS VR2 from day one.
  • Flexible VR Play Styles: according to the official PlayStation Store listing, the game supports sitting, standing, and full roomscale movement (requiring a minimum play space of 2m by 2m).

12 Co-Op Campaign Missions, 8-Player PvP, and Over 60 Weapons

Content-wise, the PlayStation VR2 edition packs the complete feature set of the sequel. Picking up immediately where the first game left off, the story unfolds in a dystopian near-future where corporate pollution has exhausted global drinking water supplies, sparking an all-out war against rogue military factions and the fanatical Tlalokii cult.

The cinematic campaign spans 12 missions playable entirely solo or in 4-player online co-op, delivering Hollywood-style set pieces, destructible environments, and call-in airstrikes. Beyond the story campaign, competitive players can jump into head-to-head PvP multiplayer modes supporting up to 8 online players (an active PlayStation Plus subscription is required for online play).

Players can unlock and master an arsenal of more than 60 weapons and cosmetic skins, backed by full physical VR weapon handling. Reloading, chambering rounds, and swapping attachments all happen manually in real time: scopes, suppressors, laser sights, and foregrips can be snapped onto rails mid-firefight to adapt to any combat scenario as the game joins the busy November 2026 video game release calendar.

My Take: Native 90Hz and Adaptive Triggers Make PS VR2 the Sweet Spot

Following the solid PlayStation VR2 port of the original Zero Caliber VR, seeing XREAL Games bring the full Remastered build of the sequel at native 90 FPS with zero reprojection is exactly what Sony's headset needed. In an explosive co-op shooter where you are constantly ducking behind cover, manually slapping in fresh magazines, and lining up long-range shots through optical sights, combining reprojection-free clarity with Sense adaptive triggers gives this version a tactile edge that standalone headsets simply cannot replicate.
