Nintendo Music Adds 7 Newly Arranged Ocarina of Time Tracks From Kokiri Forest to Gerudo Valley

To celebrate the global launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on Nintendo Switch 2 this Thursday, November 5, 2026, Nintendo has rolled out a "Special Release" update on its Nintendo Music streaming platform. Following an earlier preview that featured only the iconic Title Theme, seven newly arranged tracks from the Switch 2 edition are now available to stream.
As players step back into Hyrule after downloading the 343 MB day-one Update 1.1.1 that activates Zelda Notes, Nintendo Switch Online members can now listen to nearly half an hour of the remake's revitalized score on iOS, Android, and web browsers.
From Kokiri Forest to Gerudo Valley: All 7 Tracks Added Today
Combined with the previously released Title Theme, this "Special Release" playlist now features eight tracks in total. The seven new additions released on November 5 cover the most memorable overworld themes and settlements across Hyrule:
- Kokiri Forest
- Hyrule Field Main Theme
- Market
- Kakariko Village
- Goron City
- Zora's Domain
- Gerudo Valley
Together, the eight selections offer nearly 30 minutes of music on a standard playthrough. Better still, the tracks support the app's signature "Extend to..." feature, allowing listeners to seamlessly loop the acoustic guitars of Gerudo Valley or the tranquil waters of Zora's Domain for 15, 30, or 60 minutes without interruption while working or commuting.

A Symphonic Preview of Masato Ohashi's 150-Track Score
These seven arrangements offer a clear showcase of the audio overhaul led by Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 3. As sound director and lead composer Masato Ohashi explained in Part 4 of Nintendo's official "Ask the Developer Vol. 24" interview, the Switch 2 remake contains over 150 tracks crafted under the supervision of original composer Koji Kondo.
To breathe fresh life into a soundtrack first squeezed onto a 32-megabyte cartridge in 1998 (whose original Zelda: Ocarina of Time Nintendo 64 cartridge currently averages $14.92 loose and $64.80 complete in box on the collector market), Ohashi's team recorded live orchestral and acoustic instruments in the studio, including a real clay ocarina. As we covered in our breakdown of how Nintendo EPD rebuilt Ocarina of Time from scratch on Switch 2, the audio team carefully blended these lush live recordings with faithful nods to the original N64 synth textures so veteran fans would immediately feel at home.

How to Listen and When the Full Soundtrack Could Arrive
Streaming the Ocarina of Time Special Release requires no extra purchase beyond an active Nintendo Switch Online membership (standard or Expansion Pack). Subscribers can download the free Nintendo Music app on iOS and Android or log in via the official web player to stream, build custom playlists, or download tracks for offline listening.
Nintendo has used this "Special Release" format for several major first-party launches to give players an immediate taste of a new soundtrack while holding back late-game dungeon themes and boss battle music. While Kyoto has not yet announced when the remaining 140-plus tracks from the Switch 2 remake will drop on the service, today's eight-track sampler covers the quintessential melodies of Young and Adult Link's journey.
My Perspective
I queued up the new Gerudo Valley and Zora's Domain arrangements on my headphones first thing this morning, and Masato Ohashi's team nailed the balance between nostalgia and modern studio acoustics. Too many remakes drown classic melodies under heavy brass, but these versions keep every bit of Koji Kondo's rhythmic bounce while letting the live strings, woodwinds, and acoustic guitar breathe. My only real gripe is Nintendo's classic drip-feed strategy: knowing there are more than 150 newly arranged tracks sitting inside the Switch 2 cartridge makes an eight-song teaser feel a little stingy, and I really hope we don't have to wait half a year to put the new Song of Storms and Spirit Temple themes on a 60-minute loop.
