Zero Pre-Orders or Paid Early Access: Valor Mortis Lands on PS Plus and Game Pass on October 13

In an industry where action titles routinely charge premium fees for three days of artificial early access, One More Level is taking a completely different path. The Polish studio behind the acclaimed Ghostrunner series is launching its brand-new first-person action-RPG, Valor Mortis, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Priced at an accessible $39.99, the game makes a substantial impact on subscription services right out of the gate. Players subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem on console and PC will have full Day One access included with their membership.
PlayStation 5 players will also get an immediate hands-on opportunity. PlayStation Plus Premium members will receive a full 90-minute Game Trial on launch day, allowing players to experience the opening campaign with full save progress transferring directly over if they choose to purchase.
Visceral First-Person Napoleonic Soulslike Combat
Valor Mortis transports players into a dark, alternate 19th-century Europe shattered by the Napoleonic wars and consumed by a supernatural pestilence. You step into the boots of William, a resurrected soldier of the Grande Armée cursed by a mystical corruption.

The combat combines the high-speed kinetic feel of Ghostrunner with deliberate first-person soulslike mechanics. Wielding a naval cutlass for melee encounters alongside a flintlock pistol for ranged interruptions, players must master precise parries, dodges, and magical transmutation powers to survive against corrupted former comrades.
Progression revolves around gathering Catalysts to upgrade health, stamina, and core attributes. When William falls in battle, he respawns at resting lanterns, leaving all unused Catalysts behind at the point of death.

« The Game Will Speak for Itself on October 13 »
To cut through modern publisher monetization models, One More Level delivered a firm message regarding player respect and commercial honesty.
“We are asking for zero pre-orders, there is NO paid early access, and NO content locked behind a paywall. The game will speak for itself on October 13.”
In a landscape dominated by battle passes and tiered release editions, letting a tight 40-dollar action game prove itself through raw gameplay and transparent trials is a bold statement. The battlefield opens this Tuesday.
