Dumpster Gang Announced for Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series: Co-Op Raccoon Heist Sandbox Arrives in March 2027

Fans of slapstick co-op chaos and late-night scavenging just found their next obsession. Spotlit during the October 2026 Nintendo Indie World showcase and immediately followed by official PlayStation and Xbox announcements, Dumpster Gang is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in March 2027. Developed by indie studio Coyote House Games and published by Curve Games, this 1-to-4-player physics sandbox puts your crew in the paws of mischievous raccoons determined to turn every neighborhood into a personal heist zone.
A Two-Stage Rollout: December 2026 on PC, Followed by Consoles in March 2027
While today's showcase trailers locked in the console debut for next spring, the overall release schedule unfolds in two distinct phases. PC players will jump into the trash cans first when Dumpster Gang launches on December 3, 2026 via Steam and the Xbox app for Windows, including day-one availability on PC Game Pass. A playable demo is already live on Valve's storefront for anyone eager to test the physics engine ahead of launch.
Console players will join the fray in March 2027 across Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. On Microsoft's home consoles, the March launch will also drop straight into the Xbox Game Pass library on day one. For Nintendo fans, the reveal stood out as one of the most entertaining cooperative highlights featured in our complete Nintendo Indie World October 2026 recap for Switch 2, with Nintendo confirming full online co-op support tailored for Joy-Con 2 controllers.

Slapstick Physics, Dumpster Heists, and the Relentless Exterminator
At its core, Dumpster Gang blends vertical parkour with unruly interactive physics. Whether you scavenge solo or squad up with up to three friends online, every outing revolves around pure raccoon mischief: tipping over overflowing dumpsters, raiding snack stashes, pilfering shiny trinkets, and pulling off petty neighborhood crimes before anyone catches on.

Because you are playing as agile trash pandas rather than clumsy humans, no rooftop or air duct is off-limits. Players can sprint across fences, scale sheer walls, squeeze through narrow ventilation shafts, and hurl or smash nearly any prop in sight. Teamwork becomes essential when hauling oversized contraband back to the extraction zone or solving environmental puzzles under pressure.
Stir up too much commotion, however, and the neighborhood calls in the Exterminator. This relentless antagonist patrols the map, laying down traps and hunting your crew with a catchpole. If a teammate gets bagged and thrown into a cage, the remaining raccoons have to coordinate a daring rescue before the whole gang winds up behind bars. Surviving a raid lets you bring your haul back to an underground hideout, where you can decorate your den with stolen trophies and unlock special hats that grant unique gameplay abilities for future heists. It is already shaping up to be a standout party game on our 2027 video game release calendar.
My Perspective
I have a huge soft spot for four-player co-op games where a well-planned heist falls apart in ten seconds flat, and watching four raccoons frantically drag stolen junk during the Indie World showcase sold me immediately. What really sets Coyote House Games' approach apart from the recent wave of physics-based scavenging games is the vertical mobility. Being able to scramble up brick walls and dive into air vents gives the stealth-and-panic loop a much faster, scrappier rhythm.
Adding the Exterminator as an escalating threat is a clever way to keep squads from getting too comfortable, turning every greedy last-minute grab into a desperate prison break for your captured friends. Between its day-one Game Pass inclusion and its March 2027 arrival on Switch 2 and PS5, finding three friends to raid dumpsters with is going to be effortlessly easy.
