$28.50 Burger Shot Combos, Fake Pfister Ads, and a $4 Million Deal: How GTA 6 Is Turning Miami Into Vice City Ahead of November 19

For over two years, Rockstar Games maintained near-total silence around Grand Theft Auto VI, letting sparse trailer drops shatter viewership records on sheer anticipation alone. With less than four weeks remaining before the game's global launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, that restraint has officially vanished. Rather than relying solely on traditional box-art billboards, the studio has rolled out a massive experiential marketing blitz in late October that is physically transforming Miami into a living extension of Vice City.

From the sands of South Beach to NBA arena concourses and interactive street kiosks in Wynwood, the line between real-world South Florida and the fictional state of Leonida is blurring fast. As the title prepares to anchor the November 2026 video game release calendar on November 19, locals and tourists are no longer just spotting game logos: they are encountering satirical in-universe brands, custom-built vehicles, and functional fast-food pop-ups pulled straight from Lucia and Jason's world.

Real-Life Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell Concessions Open at the Kaseya Center With $28.50 Combos

The centerpiece of this physical takeover sits inside the Kaseya Center, home of the NBA's Miami Heat, where the franchise is already slated to play a special "A Night in Vice City" matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 18. To kick off the basketball season in late October, Rockstar Games rebranded the arena's food concessions into working versions of the franchise's two most famous fictional fast-food chains: Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell.

To bring Burger Shot into the real world, Rockstar partnered with popular local smash-burger vendor Skinny Louie. Arena staff work behind the counter in official Burger Shot uniforms and caps, serving meals in custom-printed Burger Shot boxes, wrappers, and drink cups. Fittingly for a series built on consumer satire, the stadium pricing has sparked plenty of amused reactions online: a basic Burger Shot cheeseburger combo with fries and a drink starts at $28.50 before tax, climbing to $31 for the Applewood Bacon meal.

Elsewhere inside the Kaseya Center, elevator wraps and digital concourse screens display advertisements for in-game radio station Vice City FM alongside posters for a fictional television program called Macca & Friends, starring an animated alligator mascot named Macca the Gator.

Fake Pfister, Weazel News, and The Vault Billboards Bring Rockstar's Satire to City Streets

Outside the arena, the campaign takes an even more immersive approach. Underneath elevated Metromover tracks whose concrete support pillars have been wrapped in Vice City's signature purple-and-orange sunset gradient, as well as across the Wynwood arts district, interactive digital kiosks skip traditional video game branding altogether. Instead, they display convincing advertisements for fictional companies that exist only inside Grand Theft Auto.

Pedestrians are greeted by sleek promotional posters for in-universe automaker Pfister showcasing its Comet S2 Cabriolet against a palm-lined sunset with the double-entendre tagline "Go topless." and a scannable Vice City QR code. Nearby screens promote satirical broadcaster Weazel News and the fictional nightclub The Vault, complete with classic tongue-in-cheek Rockstar slogans like "Always come early" and "Suddenly you're big enough."

A $3M to $4M Miami Beach Takeover and West Coast Customs Vice City Cruisers

Transforming an entire metropolitan area also required a major municipal checkbook. Following heated discussions within the local city commission over promoting a crime-themed blockbuster, Rockstar Games secured an agreement valued between $3 million and $4 million with Miami Beach. Since mid-October, hundreds of pink-and-white beach umbrellas and lounge chairs stamped with the Roman numeral "VI" have lined the shoreline, as documented on the ground by local creator Joel Franco, while banner planes and the official GTA 6 blimp tracked across the US cruise overhead.

Down on the asphalt, Rockstar teamed up with renowned automotive shop West Coast Customs to build a convoy of real-world cars styled after in-game vehicles. Supercars modeled on the Coquette and Cheetah have been spotted cruising through South Florida traffic, flanked by custom police cruisers bearing the full livery of the Vice City Police Department (VCPD).

My Take

I think this Miami rollout shows exactly why Rockstar Games operates in a league of its own. Any other publisher would have simply plastered standard box art and a November 19 release date across bus stops and called it a day. By planting fake Pfister Comet S2 Cabriolet ads on Wynwood street corners and serving actual smash burgers inside Burger Shot boxes at the Kaseya Center, Rockstar has turned the entire city of Miami into a giant interactive scavenger hunt. Even the $28.50 pre-tax burger combo feels like a joke pulled straight out of a Weazel News radio segment. It works so well because Rockstar doesn't need to remind anyone that GTA 6 exists: instead, they are letting Leonida bleed into the real world three weeks before launch.
