Modern Warfare 4 Overhauls DMZ: Hajin Map, Evolutive FOB, and Permanent Stash Revealed

DMZ is making a major comeback in Modern Warfare 4, but it is no longer just an experimental playground inside Warzone. Activision and Infinity Ward have officially released the DMZ Progression Trailer, confirming a full-fledged shift into a persistent standalone extraction shooter.
For extraction veterans who spent hundreds of hours in Al Mazrah during Modern Warfare 2, the shift is substantial. The mode now features long-term meta-progression designed to give every single raid genuine stakes.

Hajin: A Brand New High-Stakes Operations Zone
At the center of this overhauled experience sits Hajin, a massive new Exclusion Zone map. The layout blends heavily fortified industrial compounds, dense urban corridors, and wide firing lanes built to punish reckless squad rotations.
Environmental design emphasizes tactical verticality, allowing stealth infiltrators and coordinated strike teams to thrive. Enhanced AI patrols now react dynamically to gunfire and lock down extraction sectors the moment an alarm triggers.
The Evolutive FOB and Permanent Stash Locker
The defining structural upgrade is the Forward Operating Base (FOB). Operating as an out-of-game headquarters, players customize and upgrade their base between raids using materials extracted from the field.
Upgrading your FOB unlocks passive perks, field crafting stations, and discounted loadout supply drops. Your off-raid investment directly impacts your survivability when deploying into hostile territory.
Crucially, Infinity Ward has introduced a permanent Stash system. Players can securely store contraband weaponry, high-tier armor vests, access keycards, and rare components without risking total loss after an unexpected wipe.
Dynamic Factions and Imminent Launch
The progression loop is tied to dynamic faction contracts that shift tactical objectives during matches. Squads must constantly weigh the safety of early exfil against chasing high-tier faction bounties in contaminated hot zones.
With hype already building for Modern Warfare 4 campaign early access kicking off on October 16, this reveal shows Infinity Ward is ready to challenge dedicated extraction shooters on PC and console.
Whether the economy holds up against hardcore grinders will be the real test when the game launches worldwide on October 23.
