In a move nobody in the mobile gaming scene saw coming, Capcom and Netflix Games have pulled off a massive surprise release. Without prior teasers or marketing fanfare, Monster Hunter Rise has officially landed on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, bringing one of console gaming's most celebrated action RPGs directly to mobile devices.

Action RPG and monster hunting epic developed by Capcom. Available on iOS, Android (via Netflix Games), Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Included with Netflix $0.00

A fully native port, not cloud streaming

The most important detail for mobile hunters is technical: this is not a cloud-streamed version. The game runs natively on your hardware, taking direct advantage of Apple Silicon chips on iOS and high-end Snapdragon silicon on Android to deliver crisp frame rates and responsive action.

Best of all, the game is included at no extra cost for active Netflix subscribers. In line with the Netflix Games policy, there are zero ads, zero in-app purchases, and no predatory microtransactions. A standard subscription is all you need to download and launch the full experience.

Smart Recovery button and redesigned touch controls

Bringing Monster Hunter's complex combat system to touchscreens is notoriously difficult. Capcom tackled the challenge by completely overhauling the user interface, tailoring virtual touch buttons to each individual weapon type, from Wirebug maneuvers to Great Sword charge slashes.

The key innovation is an exclusive "Recovery" button designed specifically for touchscreens. During high-intensity hunts, this emergency feature scans the player's current health and status ailments in real time. If your hunter is poisoned, it instantly prioritizes an Antidote. If your health drops into the danger zone, it triggers a Mega Potion automatically without forcing you to scroll through the item pouch under pressure.

Included Event Quests and 4-player online co-op

In terms of content, the mobile release features the full base game that cemented itself as one of Capcom's biggest triumphs with over 20 million copies sold. While the Sunbreak expansion is not included in this initial release, Capcom has bundled all previous Event Quests and Challenge Quests directly into standard progression, letting players earn special gear and layered armor naturally.

Full 4-player online multiplayer is also functional right out of the gate, allowing hunting parties to team up and take down Magnamalo or defend Kamura Village during Rampage quests.

Soft launch live now ahead of global rollout

The game is currently rolling out via a regional soft launch, initially spotted in territories including the Philippines across Google Play and the App Store. This phase allows Netflix and Capcom to fine-tune server stability before unlocking worldwide access. If the download button has not appeared in your local app store yet, keep a close eye on the Games tab within your Netflix app as global rollout approaches.
